Employee Spotlight: Douglass Tinker

by John Nixon, on October 1, 2021

Each month, we highlight one of our employees by doing a virtual "20 Questions" with them, some of which are about their work with Reusability, and others of which help us get to know them better. This month our employee spotlight is on our Sales and Account Operations Coordinator, Douglass Tinker.

  1. What do you do at Reusability?
    1. I joined the team as the Sales and Account Operations Coordinator

  2. What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?
    1. My title sounds like I only deal with sales and account management, but I also help out on the marketing team.

  3. If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
    1. Excel!!!

  4. What is the one thing you can’t resist?
    1. A fountain Coke Zero.

  5. What is your greatest fear?
    1. SNAKES!!!

  6. Where is your favorite place to be?
    1. On a boat, with family and friends, watching the sunset after a day on the water.

  7. What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
    1. I haven’t had a “weird” job experience, but I'd so the most interesting was working the front desk at Amicolola Falls State Park lodge. It is the starting/ending point for the Appalachian Trail, so I got to meet a lot of really cool people and hear stories of their time on the trail.

  8. Of any trips you’ve taken, what was your favorite?
    1. Any of my trips to Jackson Hole, WY. Horseback riding through the Tetons, floating down the Snake River, and wandering through the National Parks in the Summer or snowboarding in the winter. There’s truly no place like it!

  9. Favorite movie?
    1. I think it would be a tie between The Other Woman or How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I watch both of those on repeat quite frequently.

  10. What do you love doing outside of work?
    1. Boating, paddleboarding, wakeboarding/wake surfing, and spending time with family and friends.

  11. If you could meet one person, living or dead, who would it be?
    1. I’d love to meet one of my great grandparents. They passed before I was born, and my family has always told me how we were a match made in heaven.

  12. If you set your music player to random, what are the 3 songs most likely to play?
    1. “All Too Well” by Taylor Swift, “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, and a Morgan Wallen song. My music tastes are all over the place.

  13. What is the first concert you attended?
    1. Taylor Swift. My aunt took me, and I think we both cried happy tears through the entire concert.

  14. What book did you read most recently?
    1. Everybody, Always by Bob Goff. So good!!

  15. What household chore do you hate the most?
    1. Can the answer be “D) all of the above”? But if I had to pick one, it would be mopping.

  16. What is your favorite type of food?
    1. I’m not too picky when it comes to good food, but lately I've been on a big sushi kick!

  17. Favorite TV show?
    1. Any and all overly dramatic reality shows. Bachelor in Paradise, Southern Charm, Summer House, etc.

  18. What is one thing, big or small, that you are really good at?
    1. Interior Design. I’ve always dreamed of having a HGTV show.

  19. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
    1. When I was a kid (and even up until my first semester of college), I wanted to be an anesthesiologist. I quickly changed my mind after I started taking upper-level bio classes in college. Not for me!

  20. Finally, why did you choose to work at Reusability?
    1. The people. The team is amazing to work with!
